A perfect camo effort. Find the hunter!

51. If you take binoculars into your tree stand, don’t use them in the direction from which the sun is shining. The glare from their lenses will alert the deer just like a signal mirror.

52. Even in very light breezes, deer cover is continually in motion, swaying back and forth. This means you can move too, but do so in ultra slow motion, so that deer won’t single out your movement as different from everything else.

53. “Visual disruption” is the key element that allows you to disappear in plain sight. So make sure you always have leaf- and tree-branch cover at the stand level, even if this means hanging your stand at a slightly higher or lower level than you usually prefer.

54. Many bowhunters wear knee-length rubber boots to keep their ground-scent at a minimum, but neoprene has a shine to it that may cause glare in bright sunlight and reveal your presence. Before using them, rub your boots with steel wool to dull the shine.
